You don't have to believe it, just do it

August 31, 2026 · Reality Creation

I’ve read a lot of books about reality creation and getting what you want out of life. Most hand you a program. Exercises to do, a practice to keep up, or doing some serious soul-searching. And you have to believe in how it all works, or you’re told it won’t work at all.

In the book Reality Transurfing, Vadim Zeland says Transurfing isn’t aimed at changing the self. It offers a way of returning to self.

That distinction took me a while to appreciate. Most of this genre asks you to become someone better. More disciplined, more positive, more consistent. Transurfing asks you to think and behave differently, which sounds similar and isn’t. There’s no version of you to build.

What it actually asks is more about subtraction. Stop assigning enormous importance to things. Stop fighting the current. Stop pushing so hard.

I don’t remember where I picked this up, but at some point I started saying to myself: “If it works out, great. If it doesn’t work out, that’s great too, because it means something better is coming along.”

Closing a new client used to be something I held on to tightly. Now if it doesn’t happen, that’s genuinely fine. I wasn’t right for them, they weren’t right for me. And it leaves room for the clients who are a better fit, the ones I can actually help.

Not all of it is subtraction. There’s a picture you hold of the life you want, looked at often enough that it stops feeling out of reach. And there’s awareness. You can’t stop pushing or stop inflating something’s importance if you never notice you’re doing it. Awareness is what catches it.

So what happens if you don’t believe a word of it?

Set aside the metaphysics. Set aside whether reality works the way he says it does. If you adopt that way of thinking and behaving, you feel better. About yourself, about your life. You’re less anxious about outcomes, less drained by things that pull at your attention.

You don’t have to believe Transurfing changes your reality. Think and behave this way and your life gets better anyway, one way or another.
